The Get Down is a dynamic Commercial Music Cover Band founded by Kenrick Wagner, the Director of Contemporary and Commercial Music at USF School of Music. The band is connected to the USF Unplugged program, serving as a bridge between the University of South Florida and the Tampa community. Comprised of talented community musicians , alumni, and students, the band brings together diverse musical influences, performing a rich blend of Hip Hop, R&B, Soul, and Jazz. Our setlist features electrifying covers from iconic artists such as Bruno Mars, Jay Z, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, and more, delivering high-energy performances that resonate with audiences of all ages. This initiative creates opportunities for collaboration between USF musicians and the broader Tampa music scene, fostering artistic growth, community engagement, and live performance experiences.
